Gina Medina is a Colombian/Spanish director and actress whose work sits at the crossroads of filmmaking and performance. Trained initially in film in Bogotá, she later completed a Master’s degree in Filmmaking at ESCAC in Barcelona, while also developing her acting craft at the Nancy Tuñon and Jordi Oliver School.

Her dual background gives her a sharp sensitivity to storytelling and a deep understanding of actors. On set, Gina builds a strong dialogue with performers, allowing space for spontaneity, authenticity, and emotionally grounded moments to emerge naturally on screen.

Working primarily in advertising, she has collaborated with a wide range of brands, bringing a distinctive tone marked by everyday realism, subtle humor, and human connection. Her films stand out for their sincerity, attention to detail, and strong sense of character.

Gina’s work has been recognized at major international festivals including D&AD, El Dorado, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, and Cannes Lions. In 2022, she joined the jury of El Ojo de Iberoamérica, and in 2025 she was selected as a jury member for Cannes Young Lions Colombia.

With a clear creative voice and a background that bridges acting and directing, Gina Medina continues to craft stories that feel intimate, truthful, and visually precise, leaving a lasting impression across both advertising and narrative spaces.
